STEP 1: PROFILE ASSESSMENT

Not every business is eligible to open a branch in Canada. To qualify for Canadian permanent residency under the ICT category, the investor’s business in Vietnam must meet the requirements set forth

In addition, the business owner and key members can also settle in Canada. The basic conditions are:

• Full-time employment at the foreign business in a senior management position for at least 12 months in the last three years
•  Continuation of a similar position at the new business in Canada

STEP 2: PREPARING THE WORK PERMIT APPLICATION

The applicant needs to prepare all the relevant documents related to their business overseas, along with other personal and financial documents. After establishing a subsidiary company in Canada, the applicant can prepare the application package, which includes personal and company information, a business plan, and a Work Permit (job offer letter) from the Canadian company.

STEP 3: SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION AND WAITING FOR DECISION

After a final review and analysis, the application is submitted to the immigration office responsible for processing. The application package is submitted online. Within 3-5 months, the applicant will receive a Work Permit and can prepare to travel to Canada for work.

STEP 4: OPERATING THE BUSINESS IN CANADA (12 MONTHS)

After successfully obtaining a Work Permit, the investor needs to operate the business in Canada for at least one year in order to support the future Permanent Resident application process.

STEP 5: APPLYING FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY

The business needs to meet the following conditions during the process of applying for Permanent Residency:

• • Be active: provide actual products/services and have real customers.
  • Have a valid business license
  • Have a representative office in Canada
  • Have at least 1 employee who is a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.

STEP 6: APPLYING FOR CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

Once the investor becomes a Permanent Resident and has resided in Canada for at least 1095 days, they are eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.

The investor needs to meet the following requirements:

* Have resided in Canada for at least 1095 days in the past 5 years

* Have filed personal income taxes for at least 3 years

* Pass the citizenship test

* Have basic proficiency in English
