LMIA PROCESSING REALLY IN 10 WORKING DAYS!?

LMIA  stands for “Labour Market Impact Assessment”, which means “Labour Market Impact Assessment” – issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). To sponsor a worker to work in Canada, businesses will need to apply for an LMIA. Normally the LMIA processing time can be up to about 9 months, so is it really possible to apply for an LMIA in just 2 – 3 weeks?
You will be surprised to know that there are a number of occupations/positions that are prioritized by Canada to process LMIAs as soon as possible to ensure the demand for human resources for Canada is met. They are mainly classified into 3 groups:

1  Specified SKILLED TRADE LINES:

There are from 40 industry groups prioritized by Canada to process LMIA in just 10 working days. These industry groups cover jobs such as mechanics, carpenters, welders, mechanics, construction supervisors, etc.

Details refer to government sources: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/foreign-workers/service-tables.html

 2  POSITIONS WITH HIGH SALARY:

Candidates who have applied for LMIA through businesses with a high salary in the top 10% or more compared to the average salary of each province or region will also be considered for early LMIA processing. The high salary affirms that the candidate has the necessary competencies and qualities to run the business.

Refer to the average hourly salary by provinces and regions in 2019:

  • Alberta: $28.85 CAD
  • British Columbia: $26.44 CAD
  • Manitoba: $23.00 CAD
  • Ontario: $26.06 CAD
  • Quebec: $25.00 CAD
  • Saskatchewan: $25.96 CAD
  • Đảo hoàng tử Edward: $21.63 CAD
  • New Brunswick: $ 21.79 CAD
  • Newfoundland and Labrador: $24.29 CAD
  • Nova Scotia: $22.00 CAD
  • Northwest Territories: $37.30 CAD
  • Nunavut: $36.00 CAD
  • Yukon: $32.00 CAD

 3  SHORT-TERM JOBS:

These short-term LMIA applicants are often employees of large companies that need to travel to Canada to service machinery or products for customers or handle insurance issues. Legal working period of less than 120 days ~ 4 months should be prioritized for early processing of LMIA.

However, if you are not in one of the above groups, you can still get a fast LMIA by filling using LMIAs that have been previously processed but are missing names or contain no name. This can save you 6 to 8 months of LMIA processing time.
